Life continues. It’s amazing to me how fast time goes sometimes. After all the excitement of Christmas and having a guest, one would think I’d have a little time to relax, right? Well, kind of, but not exactly.
Teaching involves always looking to the future. This year, Easter falls earlier than most years, which means we are already preparing for the Easter program at church! I pray that seeds of faith can be planted in the hearts of each student. I pray that they may come to know the Gospel of Jesus, and treasure Him. God is so good, and has given us everything in His Son! May I always remember this as well, and thank Him for all He’s done.
One of the things I’m especially thankful for is my brother’s visit over the past week and a half! I’m so thankful for the support of my family in my move to Japan. When I first told Alan that I would be moving here, I wasn’t sure what his reaction would be. Almost immediately he said he wanted to come visit me sometime. It finally happened!
It’s so refreshing to have family here, and show them my little corner of the world. Alan was up for trying everything. We visited both of our churches in Japan, ate so much food, walked all around Tokyo, took a bike ride, enjoyed singing Friday night, and even worked in a skiing trip! So many things to be thankful for.
We spent time with the Ito family, which is always a joy and includes wonderful time in the Shioda church, beautiful views of the country, and delicious food!
Here are some random pictures of exploring the city and trying foods. Probably our favorite restaurant was a small sushi place, where they prepare it right in front of you and have a set course. Definitely had a family feel. The chef and his wife were so hospitable and it was such a fun experience!
Skiing in Japan was absolutely breathtaking - partly because it has been a few years since I've skied and I was definitely out of shape, but mostly because the views were stunning! I may have done more looking at the scenery than actual skiing. Praise God for His beautiful creation!
I thank God for the gift of Friday night singing. I love our little group that attends faithfully. This Friday, we were blessed with a few extras! There was a group of 10 from America that joined us, as well as some others from here that don't always come. It was a church full of praise to God and beautiful harmony! To God be the glory!
Now, each day, may I acknowledge God for the work He's doing both in and around me. May I ever put Him first. May I praise Him, honor Him, and magnify His name!
With each breath He's given, praise the Lord! In these times we live in, we will praise the Lord! Throughout every season, I am sure we have every reason to praise the Lord!
