How is it that a mid-west farm girl ends up in one of the world's largest cities? Only by an amazing Creator God who writes the most unexpected plot twists!

I grew up in a very small town, surrounded by corn and bean fields. Church, friends, and family were at the core of who I was. Life was comfortable.

My first great life adventure was in my Freshman year of high school, when my parents and I moved to Haiti to serve for about four years. Suddenly my world was a lot bigger... I experienced so much more than I could have imagined in my home town, and it did a lot of work in shaping who I am today.

I moved back to the states when I graduated high school, and was perfectly content to live the small town, slow-paced life -- of course, with the option to travel every once in a while. I loved my job, my community, and the many opportunities I found right in my "backyard."

However, in the back of my mind, I always wondered what my future could hold...
