One Day at a Time

It's been three weeks since I've been out of the hospital. What a three weeks it's been! In some ways, it almost feels like I've moved to Japan again. It feels like a brand new start. There's constantly more to learn, and so much to experience.

When I left the hospital, I was amazed at how much of a change to the weather there was! Before going in for surgery, it was still very much summer - hot and humid. When I came home from the hospital, it was absolutely beautiful! The weather has been perfect. I was told that October in Japan is the best month, weather-wise. I would agree! This month has held many trips to the river, delicious food, shopping trips, and much time with my "Japan fam." I thank God for each and every moment.

I don't think I'll ever get tired of visiting this river, just to walk, to have a picnic, to view God's beauty, to explore with a couple of boys, to be still...

Just a few days after leaving the hospital was my birthday. What a special day it was! I received many cards which reminded me of what a wonderful family we have in Christ. I spent the day with my "Japan fam" and was reminded how much God cares for me, and puts just the right people in my life. I ate some delicious food. I talked to family and friends. Perhaps the cutest part of the day was this little guy giving me a flower. There's so much to be thankful for!

Some other random happenings:

There was one rainy day in October. The wet walk to church told me that I need to get some rain boots.

What a fun girls shopping trip! have I mentioned that I actually like shopping in Japan?

These kids sure know how to put away some sushi!

I have been teaching again, and it feels wonderful to be back in the classroom! Taking one day at a time, and praying that God uses me for His glory! May I continue to learn of and share God's goodness!

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen. 2 Peter 3:18
