His Grace is Sufficient

Ah, what else is there to say? I have found over and over how much I am in desperate need of God's grace. In the times that I feel inadequate, unequipped, and unsure of my place, God's grace gives hope day by day, and His mercies are new every morning!

This week has been pretty full, for which I'm thankful! I'm also glad for the moments in between to experience "normal" life. I've enjoyed the hiking, visiting Tokyo to meet up with some friends, going down south to a more rural area to visit a sister from church, and eating all the delicious food mixed in!

Hiking up Mount Takao is always refreshing, invigorating, and sweat inducing, especially this time of year! I don't think I'll ever get tired of the views, though. They make the section of 394 stairs we climbed so worth it! A snack of dango at the top is also a must.

On Wednesday, I was so excited to be able to meet some friends from the States, as they had a 12 hour layover in Tokyo. The time with them was brief and hectic, but oh so fun!

The trip down south on Thursday was a great change of scenery! I enjoyed the opportunity to visit another area of this island we call Japan, and to build on a relationship with one of the ladies from my church here. The train ride was beautiful, and very reminiscent of my time in Haiti, with the rice fields backdropped by mountains, but I love the touch of Japanese architecture too. My friend made a wonderful lunch and taught me the correct way to slurp noodles. In Japan that is like a compliment to the chef, and she said it makes her so happy to hear the slurping sound! I look forward to visiting her again!
