He Will Direct Your Paths

Hi all! To those of you who are already so dear to me, and to those I haven't met yet, welcome! This is the story that God is writing in my life. I hope anyone who reads it can be encouraged to trust God more!

About a year ago, I had no idea there was an opportunity to teach English in Japan. I was made aware of this opportunity by a family friend in a brief comment during a relaxed post-supper conversation. At first, I didn't think anything of it, as I wasn't looking for a change from my job that I love and my community that feels like family. But God...

God has a way of working in ways we least expect, doesn't He? The thought of moving to Japan to teach lingered in my mind after that conversation, and as the weeks went on I felt I needed to at least consider it, although I had very little idea of what that even meant. Thus began an ongoing journey of learning to trust God with all my heart, while not relying on my own limited understanding. I have been slowly learning to better acknowledge God in all my ways, and believe wholeheartedly that He will direct my paths.

In some ways, this journey is just beginning... I have so much to learn! I also recognize the work that God has already done, molding me into who I am right now. As I share more of the details of the past year, and God's faithful leading in the future, my prayer is that God is glorified!

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
